A comparison of the Lego Ducati Panigale V4R and a real Ducati Panigale V4R.
On June 1 2020 the Lego Ducati Panigale V4R will be released.
This is awesome! I with my girlfriend saw it before I did and sneakily bought it for my birthday (but not a chance of that happening, with my Ducati-forward newsfeed).
For only $69.95, I'm definitely getting it. I feel I'd be remiss not to.

But even just looking at it, you can see a few details are missing. I mean I'm still getting one, but details are important! Luckily it's made of Lego so I'll probably be able to stick some things on.
What the Lego Panigale and the Real Panigale have in common
Luckily they have enough things in common for the Lego version to be of appeal to any motorcycle nut.
For me, the details that they captured (that would have been deal-breakers if they omitted) are
- Functional steering and wheels
- That sweet single-sided swing-arm
- An on-brand Ducati red colour
- Aerodynamic winglets on the front
Bonus things that are super cool are
- The working gearbox
- Functional suspension
- A functional drivetrain!
Important omissions from the Lego Ducati V4R
Nonetheless there are some important details missing that you can see just from the photos above.
These omissions from the Lego Ducati V4R are
- Front mudguard — it looks naked without it. Like it has been in an accident. (Also, it's not road-legal like this!)
- Brake calipers — makes the brakes look naked. The brakes don't work, anyway
- Clutch/brake levers
- The tyres look weirdly thin on the lego Panigale. They're monstrous on the real one!
- THE 200HP+ V4 ENGINE OMG
Just listen to that V4 engine sing on the dyno...
None of this changes that I'll put in a pre-order the moment I can.
